Meet Mike
Mike enjoys building a relationship with clients by using humor, spontaneity, and creating a warm and welcoming environment. Once the relationship has been established, the individual can feel comfortable and confident to address more personal and serious issues in a confidential and respectful therapeutic environment.
Mike believes that individuals are inherently good. He approaches counseling by helping people realize the strengths they already have within themselves in order to bring about change. Mike focuses on building a relationship with clients in order to better understand the individual. With a better understanding of the individual, Mike is able to understand the individual’s perceptions. These perceptions are then explored and challenged with the individual at the individual’s pace.
He provides counseling services to people of many different backgrounds but has a specialty in anger management counseling and a particular interest in helping first-time parents transition into their new roles. Having recently become a father himself in 2014, Mike feels it is important for parents, particularly fathers, to have the support needed during this important and somewhat scary life change. He believes it is important to address issues as they come up in order to become a happy and healthy parent.
