Betrayal Trauma Therapy and Support Group in Orlando, FL
You are not crazy, and you are not alone.
Discovering infidelity, hidden sexual behavior or a pattern of lies can feel like the floor disappeared. You may be anxious, numb, angry, unable to sleep, and replaying every detail at 2AM. Those are normal responses to a real injury. They are signs of betrayal trauma, not signs that something is wrong with you.
Healing is possible. At Life Counseling Solutions, Dr. Janie Lacy helps women move from shock and survival to clarity, stability and peace.
Understanding your experience
What is betrayal trauma?
Betrayal trauma happens when someone you trust deeply violates that trust in a way that shatters your sense of safety. It often shows up after infidelity, discovering pornography or sex addiction, or a long pattern of deception. Common signs include:
- Racing thoughts and constant checking or searching for answers
- Anxiety, panic or trouble sleeping
- Loss of trust in your own judgment
- Shame, self-blame or feeling “not enough”
- Physical symptoms such as tightness in the chest, stomach trouble or exhaustion
- Feeling stuck between wanting answers and wanting to run
A whole-person approach
How we help: the Woman Redeemed approach
This is not simply talk therapy. Woman Redeemed is a three-part healing approach that works on all the places betrayal lands:
Mindset
Rewire the thoughts and beliefs that keep you stuck, including the lie that you caused this or that you will never feel whole again.
Inner work
Heal old wounds, including childhood experiences, that can make betrayal hit harder and keep painful patterns in place.
Bodywork
Calm the nervous system and release the anxiety and pain your body has been carrying.
This is the work that moves you from “I can’t believe this happened” to “I know who I am and what I need next.”
Personalized support
Individual betrayal trauma therapy
Private sessions give you a safe space to tell your story, set boundaries, make decisions about your relationship at your own pace, and rebuild trust in yourself. Whether you are staying, leaving or still unsure, you will get a plan and real support. Telehealth is available if you are outside the area.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between betrayal trauma and heartbreak?
Heartbreak is painful. Betrayal trauma includes the shock, hypervigilance and loss of safety that come when the trust you built your life on is broken. It often needs specialized care.
Do I have to decide about my relationship before I start?
No. You do not have to decide whether to stay or leave. Healing starts with getting stable and supported.
Will my partner need to be involved?
Not for your own healing. You can attend individual therapy and group on your own. If your partner is working on recovery too, we can discuss options.
How long does betrayal trauma recovery take?
Every story is different. Many women begin to feel steadier within the first weeks of consistent support, and deeper healing takes longer.
Is the group confidential?
Yes. Group members agree to keep what is shared private.
Is the group open to men?
Yes. Men and women are both welcome.
Do you take insurance?
Life Counseling Solutions is a self-pay practice and does not bill insurance. The 6-week group is $300.
What if I am not ready for a group?
Start with individual therapy. Many women do, and join the group later.
