Orlando Addictions Counseling | Meet Jenna
I have been a counselor for 8 years with a focus on providing a compassionate, loving and caring approach to helping clients see their true potential. Through my own recovery I have seen how much trauma has affected my life today, and I would like to help people go on a different path. From my professional experience someone that grew up in a traumatic environment, and by trauma I mean life event that alters the way view yourself and the world, there is a direct link to how it impacts your life’s choices.
Through my own recovery I have seen how much trauma has affected my life today, and I would like to help people go on a different path. People escape themselves through drugs, food, self-mutilation and relationships, but being able to love yourself for who you are is really important because from there you are able to make healthy decisions.
Since unresolved trauma can really affect people’s choices and how they view themselves, her approach is to let people start the healing process and get to the core beliefs that led to their addictions in the first place.
Education: I attended the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey I received both my BA with a minor in Holocaust and Genocide studies and a Master’s in Holocaust and Genocide Studies. I became a Certified Addictions Professional as well as a Certified Trauma Therapist. Studying these subjects gave me the knowledge, insight and passion to pursue a field in where helping people how there current behaviors stem from the trauma can leave a lasting impact. My graduate education enhanced my desire to provide hope and a voice for those who most need it.
I was born in Coral Springs, FL but I grew up in NJ for 21 years before moving back to Florida. I am married and have a beautiful daughter. I have a passion for baking and being outdoors and truly believe that the pathway to healing comes from implementing self-care.
