Are you Single?  Unhappy?  Frustrated with life?  My question for you is WHY? Let me tell you that there is absolutely no reason for you to feel this way.  Singlehood is something that you should be able to embrace.  How can you do that?  Let’s take a look!

1) Get to Know Yourself

First, it is important to understand that there is a reason why you are single. It does not have to be a bad reason.  While you are single, you are given the opportunity to get to know yourself, find out who you really are and what you are all about in your life.  This is extremely important, but a lot of times this is overlooked because all we can think about is being alone.  There is no need for you to be so focused on being alone.  There is a time for everything in your life and when the time is right, the right partner will come along.  For you to be able to recognize the right partner though, you have to know yourself first.  If you are not aware of what you are about, what your values are, than how can you know you have found Mr. Right?

2) Focus on Family and Friends

Enjoy the time you get to spend with your family and friends.  Once you have made a commitment to someone, you won’t have as much time for your friends anymore.  This is not a bad thing; it is to give you an understanding that there are pros and cons to both the single life and the life with someone else.

3) Get Involved

If you haven’t made time yet to give yourself to your community, now is the time.  There is so much you can do to help.  If you do not want to do it alone, ask a friend to come along with you.  This is a great way to serve, meet new people and enjoy fellowship with others all at the same time.  How awesome is that!

4) A Hobby?

Do you have a hobby?  Something that you used to do that has been forgotten about?  Why not get back into it?  Whether you used to be involved at church, a book club, dance studio or theater group, this is the time to get back into it.

5) Be Happy

You may think that this is easy to say but really think about it. BE HAPPY!  There is nothing more attractive than a joyful person.  Do you want to be with someone that is always depressed?  No!  Enjoy your life, enjoy every moment you have, life is too short to fret about things you do not have, be thankful for the things that you do have.  There will be a time for you.  Be patient and willing to wait because you do not want to settle for anything less than what was promised to you.

As you can see, it is really not that bad being single. Again, there is a reason why we ought to be single, to find ourselves first before we can find Mr. or Mrs. Right. Use this time of your life wisely and prepare yourselves for when you will have that someone in your life, to know what your expectations are and what you want out of that relationship.
